Aisling Ennis is highly regarded as a harpist and creative thinker who enjoys a successful, self-directed portfolio career. A former student of the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Royal Irish Academy of Music and holds a first class Master’s degree in Arts Management and Cultural Policy from UCD as well as a PGCE in Primary Education. Aisling is known for her evocative playing across a broad spectrum of genres, her ongoing, multifaceted collaborations and innovative approaches to programming.
2024 sees Aisling devising her children's version of 'Fairy Harp, Ceol Sí'. This project began in 2023 as a research project exploring repertoire from both Irish and classical harp traditions inspired by the fairies and toured throughout County Wicklow in October 2023.
Recent highlights include solo performances with Irish Chamber Orchestra (November 2023), her solo recital tour 'Fairy Harp, Ceol Sí' (October 2023) performances with her flute, viola harp trio, Trio Táin, (November 2023) her adaptation of Mozart's Magic Flute for narrator, flute, viola, harp and soprano for West Wicklow Chamber Music Festival (Summer and Autumn 2022) collaborating with Peter Power of Sparsile Collective on 'After Light: These Dark Citizens' (Cork's Midsummer Festival 2022) solo appearances with Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Irish Chamber Orchestra for (Kilkenny Arts Festival 2022) and the release of her debut solo album of compositions (Spring 2023). Aisling was a 2022 member of Wicklow Artists Panel and continues to work to support and enrich the arts in her beloved home, Wicklow.
Aisling performs on a Salvi Minerva concert harp, Tomás Mac Uileagóid 'Eala' Irish harps and Camac electric harps. Aisling's work is supported by Arts Council Ireland, Wicklow County Council, Creative Ireland and the Department for Art, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
